Seek God's face

In the Bible we are sometimes told to seek God's face. King David in Psalm 27:8 says, "My heart says of you, seek His face! Your face, Lord, I will seek". This is not the same as to seek God's hand which means to seek His provision and God certainly does like to provide. In the Hebrew of the Old Testament the word for "face" can also mean "presence". I have fancifully said that we can imagine going into God's throne room, with no prior appointment, to go and sit on His lap. The Truth is that we can indeed seek His presence. How? Through prayer, meditation, thinking on Scripture, reflecting on our lives being in line with God's will, worshipping and honouring God. Matthew 7:7 "...Seek and you will find ..."
