But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the LORD who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth and that I delight in these things. I, the LORD, have spoken!In the book of Jeremiah, the prophet warns the people of Israel against boasting about their own wisdom, might, or riches. He reminds them that these things are fleeting and ultimately meaningless. Instead, he urges them to boast in the Lord, who exercises steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the world.Today, you will be challenged to re-examine your priorities and values. It is easy to become caught up in the pursuit of worldly success and material possessions, but ultimately these things do not bring true fulfillment or lasting happiness. Rather, you should seek to cultivate a deep relationship with God and strive to live in a way that reflects his character and values.
