SEEKING SUPPORT IN A CULTURE OF EFFORTLESS PERFECTION   Stress has become a significant barrier to adolescent girls’ wellness. Increasingly, you women are experiencing high levels of stress, and recent studies have cited the highest levels of stress ever in female college freshmen in North America. Girls are growing up in a world where the concept of perfection and success are driving forces, fed by multiple media platforms. Recently, author and academic, Rachel Simmons has embarked on a research project entitled Seeking Support in a Culture of Effortless Perfection with co-investigator Michelle Tugade. Simmons and Tugade are working with school communities across North America including Crofton House School in Vancouver.
