Welcome to part two of the Seen Not Heard series. If you have not listened to the first part of our series, you might want to go back and get filled in. When we left off, summer 2019 was coming to an end and questions remained. At the Cru Leadership Summit that summer, Cru director Kim Johnson announced that Northwestern’s Cru and Impact chapters were splitting up. Reactions from black students in Cru ranged from blindsided to devastated, but following the schism, NU’s newly independent Impact chapter worked hard to rebuild.
