For the latest edition of our long-running Select mix series, Cairene DJ Khaled Youssry pays us a visit with a purely vinyl mix of studiously curated acid house and breakbeat tunes. A student of Egyptian DJ school, Strictly Vinyl, Youssy ‘did it’ the right way, learning his craft with vinyl before going on to learn mixing on digital equipment, which has given him a keen ear and even keener attention to detail. Still very much at the beginning of his journey, his Select mix shows him to be a man of outstanding taste through what is a mix of acid and minimal house, with dashes of breakbeats, spacey drops and ambient, with the set looking to the work of Vitess, Idris Bena, Hoarder, Augustin Alvarez and more.
