Right out of college Mike was the JV coach for the boys and varsity assistant coach for the girls at Detroit Country Day.  The varsity boys team won a state championship led by then-sophomore Shane Battier.  Mike then moved to Shrine Catholic High School for 16 years (4 divisional championships, 4 time Catholic League Finalists, and one State District Title.  Then moved to Royal Oak High School for 4 years.  Total of 20 years as varsity coach.
