TRANSCRIPT · AUTO-GENERATED

Greetings, greetings, welcome to that episode of True to Power. I am your host, Tyra, it's me, Nate. And tonight I want to talk about self-conability. When we talk about self-conability, I don't think we understand what that truly means.

Now, self-conability is the act of being accountable. What is being accountable? Being responsible. What does responsibility mean?

The ability to respond. Okay? And I wanted to do this episode tonight for a couple of different reasons. One reason, one thing that got my attention that probably got all your attention is the Derek Jackson situation.

Now, I didn't know who the guy was until recently, but as I prepped the results videos, I wasn't surprised. I was not surprised. And I'm gonna just oppose this to how white supremacists don't have self-conability themselves. Now, usually this is something that I reserved for the game, but since I'm working on the network right now, I'm getting that started on Amazon, biostick, and Roku.

I've held off on the game. I know a lot of people like the game. I know y'all do. We've been getting some good responses.

Shout out to my co-holder, Mitri, shout out to Nydia. And everybody else that's been a part of the game, I really appreciate you guys. And we'll be back soon. But I digress from that.

And being on topic, when we talk about accountability, we talk about being the counter-prophyations. Part of that is being accountable for the information that you receive, being accountable for the sources that you received and from. And I really want to talk to the black women right now because I see a pattern, right? I'm gonna say something, and I know a lot of people are always like, because when I first started truth of power, I had a lot of episodes where I was talking about relationships, black relationships, and black women and black men.

And I got a lot of feedback, somewhere negative, somewhere positive. But a lot of people say, oh, men, you hold on women, then you're all men. I'm like, no, I'm just as hard on men. But y'all don't hear that because y'all don't want to hear that, to be completely honest.

Y'all want to be like, me and A-shit, me and A-shit, me and A-shit, me and A-shit. Women is not your responsibility to do anything, me and A-shit. That's what y'all want to hear. But that's not the truth.

That's far from it. Far from it. But that's what you would like to hear. Are you men feminists out there?

No, you want them feminists out there. They'll try to want it. So here comes Derek Jackson, a guy that told you everything that you wanted to hear. Now that you needed to hear, that you wanted to hear.

And when I was, and I'm like, and I'm thinking, I'm thinking to myself as I'm listening to it, I'm thinking to myself going, this is a guy that has a lot of sides to the church. I'm some type of R-hees connected, religiously and some type of way. Now why do I say that? Because now I have a huge woman following his well.

But the difference between me and him is, I'm not here lying to you. Now this guy, I said, you know, women, the reason why I say, I'm a say this, black women, y'all love being lied to. Why do you say that? Why do I say that?

Because look at the churches. Look at how the churches are filled up every Sunday with women paying to get lied to. You will give a pass of your money for lying to you. They call it offerings.

They call it offerings, but I'm gonna break it down to some implicit wall. You're giving that guy money to lie to you. You are. When somebody tells you that life is just gonna be or men rather, men ain't shit.

Women, you deserve better. Nothing that a woman does wrong. Nothing that a woman does is wrong. But everything that a man does is wrong.

You got a professional bullshit artist. And people were asking me, because a lot of people didn't hear about this guy until this whole thing broke out. A lot of people sent themselves, but who is this guy? He was this relationship guru that came towards women.

But when they found out that he had a wife and some kids, and he was cheating on his wife every which way. And I think he had a side chick pregnant and things like that. And when I was, when I was growing up, they had rules to the whole side chick thing. When I was going to, you know, I'm just gonna say my uncle's all 11 players, they had rules.

Certain things side chicks could do, certain things side chicks couldn't do. But they had rules. And that's why structure and rules are very important. Because they, they, they allow you to hold yourself accountable.

They allow you to say to yourself, hey, you know what I kind of feel shot on it. Like I plan on doing it, but I kind of feel shot on it. For whatever reason. But you need rules and you need self accountability.

Now it's like progressives and we become adults. We are all going to experience some things that are going to test out a character. Just going to test out a middle. And how we get through that, is going to be based on how strongly we believe and what we're seeing.

Because saying some things just isn't enough. Actually going and doing things, and doing what you said that you're going to do, that has to have a little bit more value. That has to have a little bit more value in what you're saying, that what you're saying you're going to do, actually going out and doing it. But I'm here to tell you that black women, you guys place value on people that don't tell you the truth.

Because the truth is so ugly and horrendous. Hold on, that's not the word. The truth, forgive me. But the truth is so horrible and ugly.

And horrendous to you. That's the word. To you that you shot away from it. But the only way you'll get better is if somebody tells you the truth.

Now I'm going to give a personal example. I was on the phone with one of my friends, not going to say no names, not going to say your name. But I was on the phone with her. And she was talking about a week.

And I was like, and I had some comments about it. But I was saying, oh, me, I know how I am. But as I was talking to her, we continue to come to the station, she said that one of those motivational speakers, she was listening to him and she was so inspired by what he was saying. And I was like, that's kind of interesting because this guy is kind of harsh.

And based on what I tell you in the qualities that you say to me, you don't too much agree with their harshness, right? She was like, that's different because I know you. Now, whether she meant to convey this or not, but she was telling me I'll place more value on what he has to say rather than what you have to say. Whether she meant to convey this or not.

And I think she respects me however, to make this statement about somebody that you don't know, it could be taken as a slight or an insult to a certain degree. But I play, but I play past it. But I'm just here to tell you tonight, as somebody like me that does it do diligence that does it research, it gets heard about a day once a brain, my people accurate information. It does.

It gets heard about a day. Because when you put that much work in to what you do, and you have somebody tell you that still and all they think you're just opinion based and not fact based, even though they've done the research themselves, that makes you want to give up on people, man. That it does. It really, it truly does.

It truly does. Because saying some things just isn't enough. Actually going and doing things, and doing what you said that you're going to do, that has to have a little bit more value. That has to have a little bit more value in what you're saying, with what you're saying you're going to do, actually going out and doing it.

But I'm here to tell you that black women, you guys place value on people that don't tell you the truth. Because the truth is so ugly and horrendous. Hold on, that's not the word. The truth, forgive me.

But the truth is so horrible and ugly and horrendous to you. That's the word. To you that you shall away from it. But the only way you'll get better is if somebody tells you the truth.

Now I'm going to give a personal example. I was on phone with one of my friends, and I was going to say no names. I was on the phone with her. And she was talking about a week.

She said that one of those motivational speakers, she was listening to them and she felt so inspired by what he was saying. And I was like, that's kind of interesting because this guy is kind of harsh.

And based on what I tell you in the qualities that you say to me, you don't too much agree with their harshness, right? She was like, that's different because I know you. And I think she respects me however, to make this statement about somebody that you don't know, it could be taken as a slight or an insult to a certain degree. But I played, but I played past it. But I'm just here to tell you tonight, as somebody like me that does his due diligence, that does his research, it gets hard about a day one to bring my people accurate information. It does.

It gets hard about a day. Because when you put that much work in to what you do, and you have somebody tell you that still in all, they think you're just opinion based and not fact based, even though they've done the research themselves, that makes you want to give up on people, man. That it does. It really truly does.

It truly does. And that's why people have been asking me lately, they're like terrorists. Are you still as passionate as you were before when you started this? And I'm like, yeah, hell yeah.

I am. I really am. I truly am. I truly am.

I'm just as passionate as I was when I started through the power two years ago, two was two, three years ago, almost coming up on three years. But I'm just passionate, just as motivated and determined as I was three years ago. But for certain people, some people, when I'm giving them information and appears, and appears, they want to challenge me on it. And I'm constantly telling them, okay, you know, go look at yourself.

And instead of looking up, they just want to continue to challenge me, then I just go, okay, I just say, okay, because at some point, you got to learn how to let people go and do their own thing and learn for themselves. I'm not about to get ready to fight with you about this because we are under a wicked system that is white supremacy. And I understand that the condition that we're in overall, in an almost extremely hard, just a function in a system day by day. But we got to get off this bullshit where you look at the messenger, and this is not the messenger that you want.

We just got that person. If the message is important, the messenger doesn't really matter. You know what? Let me let me amend what I just said.

If the message is good, the messenger doesn't matter. If he's practicing what he's preaching. And that's what got David Jackson and all this social media or frenzy. And I haven't been on social media in almost four months now.

But his name is popped up on YouTube and things of that nature. And I'm just going, what was this guy? Next, they got the reading article saying, Derek Jackson, she's on white with side chicks. Side chicks are heated.

They're mad at Derek Jackson. And the lack of self accountability, that some of these women were displaying. I have to say, was all time down right, disgusting, because they want to go, oh, I know he was mad. He told me he was separated.

If he's separated, then he's still legally married. The whole just self accountable for your actions. You were sleeping with a married man, and you knew it. And now that he made it clear that he won't leave his wife for you, now you're going to blow up his spot.

Soon as he made it clear that he wasn't leaving his wife for you, he wasn't leaving home for you. You want to blow up his spot. Right. And there's a lot of women out there like that.

A lot of women are voluntarily side chicks in their own relationship. And they try that like they don't even know it, which is unfortunate. A lot of women are like that. A lot of women like to lie to themselves, and they like to get lied to instead of face from reality and dealing with that.

But I understand that we as black people, and I don't want this to get lost in the sauce as they say it. But I understand that we as black people, and it is the manic system that is white supremacy, that we've been lied to a whole lot about white supremacists, about who we are in the media, or on TV, etch-a-jobs. We get lied to on a daily basis. And eventually that results, and that's not having respect for the truth.

Unfortunately, unfortunately, a white supremacist in Atlanta and Boulder, Colorado, I was like, when I heard that, I said damn, they still killing each other in Boulder, Colorado? Yep. When black people kill it with one black person, there's another black person that's considered black on black violence. A white person goes mascara whole sector, white people.

He was having a bad day. At least that's what the media tells us. He was just having a bad day. But then when you look at the suspect in Boulder, Colorado, this guy, he's been shot, he was in a wheelchair because he's been shot, but they moved him to a more secure prison because he was getting so many death threats.

Now, I want black people to think about that for a moment. Black people, you were getting murdered by a race soldier just by walking down the street. You don't even do nothing just by walking down the street. They will murder you for that.

But here are white supremacists, suspected white supremacists. Shoots up and holding sector white people. And not only is he brought in safe, except you as you possibly came with a domestic terrorist, but then they're going to insure his safety by moving him to a more super secure place in the prison. And we got people playing around with this stuff, man.

We got people playing around with white supremacy. You say, no joke? We got domestic terrorists shooting at people just about every day. And it's going to get more wicked.

My long way to go, man, it's novel, low hanging fruit. That's on the way as we speak. But thank you guys for joining me tonight. I just spoke true to power.

Have a great night.
