Self-Management 101
from Whole Life Healing · host Karla Cauldwell
Episode summary In this episode, Karla breaks down why the last cohort of healthcare workers she coached saw such striking outcomes: coming off blood pressure medication under physician guidance, lower blood sugar and A1C numbers, meaningful weight loss, and more energy. None of it started with a product or a dramatic life change. It started with self-assessment and one small, consistent change at a time. Karla walks through the Whole Life Healing Assessment Wheel step by step, including exactly how to score yourself, choose one area, write a SMART goal, and test that goal with a confidence check before you commit to it. What you will learn ● Why the CDC and clinicians themselves both estimate that seventy to ninety-five percent of chronic disease is preventable through behavior. ● How the Whole Life Healing Assessment Wheel works, including the eight area scoring system. ● The difference between an idea and a SMART action, and why only one of them actually gets done. ● The confidence check that tells you whether a goal will hold before you start it. ● Why self-management is a lifestyle practice, not a program you complete once. Score yourself honestly across the eight areas, finances, personal growth, movement, nutrition, relationships, stress management, spirituality, and rest and sleep, using a scale of one to eight. Circle your lowest score. Ask yourself, how can I improve this by one point? Write one SMART action, then test it with the confidence check. If you score below a seven out of ten, rewrite the action until you do.
