Selling out for Jesus

from Rick Manis Ministries Podcast · host Rick Manis

Understanding the grace of God is a lot about receiving from God. The key to enjoying eternal life is knowing God is good. If you aren't convinced of His goodness, you will get tripped up on other things. Matthew 13:44-46 - Treasure in the field. We've always believed that was about us being sold out for God. If it's on us giving our all, it'll never be enough. If it's about Jesus giving all, then it has happened and we are the treasure of great price. Luke 18 tells of the rich young ruler. Give you're all, sell all you have and give to the poor then come and follow me. This shows you really love your neighbor as yourself. But the ruler couldn't do it. It exposed the man's shortcomings. He hadn't loved with everything he had. In fact, any good teaching of the law will always leave you knowing that you are a sinner just like everyone else. Then who can be saved? No one can live up to that standard. With man, it's impossible. With God, it is possible - because He did it not us. If you ever wonder if God loves you, just consider this - God gave His all. He sent His Son so that the righteous requirements of the law would be fulfilled. And you wouldn't have to do it. Support the show
