Seminary Dropout 41: Bruxy Cavey

from Seminary Dropout

Bruxy Cavey, author of best selling End of Religion, is Teaching Pastor of The Meeting House in Canada. If you’ve listened to Bruxy’s sermons in person or online, you know they’re unique, creative, and accessible without being shallow. Bruxy joins me on the show to talk about his fascinating journey that led him to become an Anabaptist and a pastor at The Meeting House, his book The End of Religion, and the arch of scripture. I loved when Bruxy dropped this little gem… “Real church happens when you turn the chairs to face each other.” -Larry Crabb   In The End of Religion, Cavey contends that the Jesus described in the Bible never intended to found a new religion; instead he hoped to break down the very idea of religion as a way to God. With a fresh perspective on biblical stories, Cavey paints a picture of the world God originally intended and still desires: a world without religion.
