Seminoles Dominate in Season Opener | Florida State Seminoles Football News

Florida State football opens their 2026 season with a massive 30+ point favorite against New Mexico State on Saturday night — and it’s the perfect stage for QB Ashton Daniels to shine. The Aggies, led by deep-throwing QB Trey Hedden and turnover machine safety Bernock Iya, bring speed and aggression but struggle on the ground. FSU’s coaching staff will keep things simple, feeding playmakers to build momentum early. With a brutal schedule ahead, this win could set the tone — and analysts expect a blowout that boosts confidence for what’s coming next.
