The first debate between Democrats Dwight Bullard and Andrew Korge in a re-drawn Senate district covering Miami’s vast unincorporated areas of Kendall, West Kendall and Dadeland, and suburbs like Howard, Perrine and The Falls, and the western side of the city of South Miami. Florida’s 40th Senate District has 475,000 residents. The new district’s eastern boarder is defined by the US1 Highway on the east from in South Miami at SW 67th Avenue all the way down to SW 200th Street, bordered to the north by Bird Road aka SW 40th Street. Sen. Bullard is a high school teacher and is the Miami-Dade County Democratic Party Chairperson and represents the old District 39 currently, and held Florida’s 118th State House seat for the four years before that. He is 39 years old. Andrew Korge has a Juris Doctor from University of Florida and works in real estate today after having been part of the Obama Finance Committee in 2008. He is 35 years old with two children. Early voting has begun in Miami-Dade County.
