Sen. Fetterman signs on to federal bill that would make marijuana legal

from KYW Newsradio Audio On-Demand

Sen. John Fetterman says Congress should "stop [screwing] around and make weed legal." The Pennsylvania Democrat has signed on to a bill that would remove marijuana from the list of federally controlled substances and allow states to create their own laws. Fetterman said, "I think your path to wellness should be without judgement or punishment -- legal, safe, and regulated." New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker is one of the main sponsors of the bill. Todd Blanche, President Donald Trump's nominee for attorney general, told Congress he would give marijuana policy "careful consideration" if he's confirmed. (Photo by Anna Moneymaker/Getty Images)
