SENSITIVITY TO THE VOICE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

from The Kingdom Of God First Podcast. · host Tewe Kolade Felix

📖 Scripture “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” — John 10:27 Devotional Message One of the greatest blessings God has given His children is the ability to hear and recognize His voice through the Holy Spirit. However, hearing God is not merely a gift—it is a relationship that requires sensitivity, attentiveness, and spiritual growth. Sensitivity to the voice of the Holy Spirit means developing a heart that is responsive to His promptings, instructions, warnings, and guidance. The Holy Spirit is constantly speaking, but many believers struggle to hear Him because their hearts are distracted by the noise of the world, the demands of life, or the desires of the flesh. Just as a musician trains their ear to recognize notes and melodies, believers must train their spirits to recognize the voice of God. This happens through consistent prayer, meditation on God's Word, worship, and obedience. The more time you spend in God's presence, the more familiar His voice becomes. The Holy Spirit often speaks gently. He may bring a Scripture to your mind, create a sense of peace or caution in your heart, or give a quiet prompting concerning a decision. Those who are spiritually sensitive learn to pay attention to these divine nudges. Sensitivity also grows through obedience. Every time you respond to God's voice, your spiritual discernment becomes sharper. Conversely, repeatedly ignoring His promptings can dull your spiritual sensitivity. Samuel became sensitive to God's voice because he responded, "Speak, Lord; for thy servant heareth" (1 Samuel 3:9). This should be the attitude of every believer. A willing heart creates an atmosphere for divine communication. In these last days, God desires His people to be led by His Spirit. The ability to hear His voice can save you from mistakes, position you for blessings, and align you with His perfect will. Make it your daily prayer to become more sensitive to the Holy Spirit. His voice is still speaking, and His guidance is still available. Today, Ask Yourself Am I creating enough space in my daily life to hear and respond to the voice of the Holy Spirit? Prayer Almighty Father, thank You for the gift of Your Holy Spirit. Open my ears to hear Your voice clearly and make my heart sensitive to Your leading. Remove every distraction that hinders my fellowship with You. Help me to recognize Your voice, obey Your instructions, and walk confidently in Your will. In Jesus' name, Amen. 🙏
