Date: 01.30.11 Preacher: Kris Martens Title: Sent | far & away & round the corner Throughout Luke's account of Jesus' life, teachings & mission - his goal has been to bring certainty to those reading this work (Luke 1:1-4) Luke sticks the landing in chapter 24 - summarizing the major themes of the Gospel & emphasizing the reality of Jesus' return. Most notable in Luke, and all Gospel writers, is the promise of the Holy Spirit given by Jesus. Today - we'll explore the reality & necessity of the Holy Spirit in the life & mission of the church. By God's grace, we'll see our need for the Spirit in every area of life - depend upon Him as we share & live out the Gospel in our 'Jerusalem's' 'Samaria's' and to the 'ends of the earth' Praise God for the perseverance to work through all of Luke's Gospel - and for the incredible foundation it has laid for our community.
