The conversation focuses on the new background features of the Pelagus wallet, transaction slippage mitigation during token conversions, running custom RPC nodes, and the status of upcoming cross-chain integrations like Wormhole.Key Highlights From This Episode:Pelagus Wallet Interval Conversions: The new update allows automated background conversions between Quai and Qi by splitting large amounts into smaller transactions over user-defined time frames.Slippage Mitigation: Single large conversions can trigger up to 90% slippage. Breaking them into smaller chunks (like 10 Qi at a time) dramatically lowers the slippage to around 6%.Operational Requirements: The browser must remain open for background conversions to run. Users should also increase the wallet’s auto-lock interval to one hour to avoid interruptions.Nonce and UTXO Conflicts: Parallel interval queues on the same ledger can cause nonce or UTXO collisions, leading to reverts. However, running Quai-to-Qi and Qi-to-Quai simultaneously is completely safe.Decentralized Custom RPC Support: Users can now input custom RPC URLs to point Pelagus to their own local nodes, moving the network closer to decentralized block validation.Custom RPC Setup Quirks: Users must supply both HTTP and WebSocket endpoints and select the network before entering data. There is no automatic fallback if the custom URL goes offline.Wrapped Qi (WQi) Mechanics: Wrapped Qi acts as an ERC-20 token for DeFi use. Wrapping native Qi is instant, but unwrapping WQi back to native Qi triggers a protocol-enforced two-week lockup period.Error Handling and Reverts: Pelagus retries failed background conversions up to three times before canceling. Reverted transactions can be tracked directly on QuaiScan using the conversion-revert tag.Tangem and Kraken Integrations: Technical integration pipelines are actively ongoing with both teams. Tangem hardware wallets will seamlessly support Quai EVM tokens, ERC-20 assets, and Liquid Mining Tokens (LMTs).Blip Pay On- and Off-Ramps: The crypto debit card off-ramp infrastructure is roughly 90% complete.
