Separation of Church & Hate Pt. 2: Generosity, Possessions, and The Kingdom - 7/14/2024
from The Naz Church Podcast · host The Naz Church
Pastor Dale Benson Matthew 6:1-4 (NLT) - In The Sermon on the Mount, Jesus assumes His audience is giving, praying, and fasting. The issue is not whether we give. Jesus is more interested in how and why we give, pray, and fast. - Do you give to be noticed? Is your giving an act of worship to God, or a way to get recognized for your good deeds? Malachi 3:10 (NLT) - God is not concerned about your money. He is concerned about your soul. Enough about generosity, let's move on to our possessions. - Do you own your possessions, or do your possessions own you? - “Lord you aren't adequately supplying what I think my needs are, so I am going to put my trust in Visa." - Do you worry about food? - It is one thing to trust God with the excess. It is an entirely different thing to trust God when both the cupboards and the bank account are bare. - Do I trust God with the first of what I have, or do I give Him the leftovers? Proverbs 22:7 (NLT) What do the rich and the poor have in common? God is the maker of them both. Proverbs 9:10 (NLT) Matthew 6:31-34 (NLT)
