from The Common Good Podcast Hosted by Brian From

(00:00-09:47): Today we remember and mourn the attacks on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. Brian and Ian reflect on where they were and how they responded. (09:47-18:52): There was a sense of normalcy last night as NFL football began. The Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans kicked the season off in Kansas City in front of roughly 20,000 spectators! (18:52-28:18): Thom Rainer wrote a book called “The Post-Quarantine Church”. Brian and Ian discuss this review on The Gospel Coalition. (28:18-36:10): Richard Fry writes “A majority of young adults in the U.S. live with their parents for the first time since the Great Depression” in Fact Tank. Brian and Ian discuss this phenomenon. (36:10-46:01): Ian posted an image with Donald Trump and Joe Biden as children and captioned it “Both are made "imago Dei" - in the image of God. Both of them.” He and Brian discuss the comment thread on the image. (46:01-1:03:13): We are joined by David Fitch, Chair of evangelical theology at Northern Seminary, Chicago. He posted a few days ago about how people use the Bible to coerce people into thinking a certain way - either through fear or by force. Brian and Ian, as church leaders, respond to his question “Have you faced the backlash of coercive behavior in your church?” (1:03:13-1:12:15): We close the show reflecting once again on what we remember today from 19 years ago. We listen to a clip of Rev. Billy Graham’s address in Washington DC just days after the attacks.
