This message is a unique, one-off sermon delivered in the wake of the shocking assassination of Charlie Kirk. Beyond the tragedy itself, the disturbing national response—where many celebrated his death and even mocked God—exposes the deep moral confusion of our nation. As Isaiah 5:20 warns, our culture increasingly calls evil good and good evil.From this sobering moment, we must ask the question: What is the church called to do? The answer is clear—Fight.Not with the sword (Romans 13:1–4): The church is not given the sword of government; our battle is not against flesh and blood. We fight differently than the world fights.By standing for and proclaiming the truth (1 Timothy 3:15; 2 Corinthians 10:4–5): The church is the pillar and foundation of the truth, called to uphold God’s Word in the midst of lies. We do not destroy people but confront false ideas and bring them captive to Christ. Our role is to engage the culture with truth, even when it is mocked, silenced, or opposed.By proclaiming the Gospel of Peace (Ephesians 2:13–17; 6:15): The Gospel has the power to reconcile enemies, heal divisions, and deliver people from the bondage of sin. A fractured, hostile nation desperately needs the hope and peace of Christ, proclaimed boldly and lived out faithfully by the church.We have seen the darkness in our country, but God has called His people to stand in the gap. The time is now—not to retreat, but to join the fight by declaring truth and offering the Gospel of peace to a broken world.
