Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaining? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes? Those who tarry long over wine; those who go to try mixed wine.” — Proverbs 23:29–30“Then the man shall bring his wife to the priest and bring the offering required of her… The priest shall make her take an oath…” — Numbers 5:15, 19“And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When either a man or a woman makes a special vow, the vow of a Nazirite, to separate himself to the Lord…’” — Numbers 6:1–2________________________________________Life is full of choices. Some of them are easy, like choosing your favorite ice cream flavor. Others, like who you hang out with, what you watch, or how you handle temptation, have deeper consequences. In Proverbs 23, we’re warned about the trap of things like alcohol—not because God wants to kill our fun, but because He knows how easily it can blur our vision, literally and spiritually. In Numbers 5, God gives specific instructions to handle situations that test truth and faithfulness. And in Numbers 6, He introduces a way for people to live wholly dedicated to Him through the Nazirite vow. All these scriptures point to one big theme: our choices shape our direction—and our devotion.________________________________________THINK ABOUT IT1. What’s Blurring Your Vision? The Proverbs passage warns about how things that seem fun or harmless can lead to regret and confusion. Is there something in your life right now that’s causing you to lose focus on God?2. God Cares About Integrity: The strange ritual in Numbers 5 may seem harsh, but it shows that God values truth and takes relationships seriously. Are you living in a way that reflects honesty and trust?3. Set Apart on Purpose: In Numbers 6, the Nazirite vow was a special way to be set apart for God. What would it look like for you to live “set apart” in your school, your friend group, or your online presence?________________________________________BOTTOM LINEGod calls us to live with clear eyes and devoted hearts. When we choose to stay focused on Him, we avoid the pain that comes from blurry, misled decisions.________________________________________PRAYERHeavenly Father, thank You for loving me enough to guide me away from the things that can harm me. Help me recognize the things that blur my vision and distract me from You. Teach me to live with honesty, focus, and a heart fully set apart for You. Give me the courage to make wise choices, even when it's hard or unpopular. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
