September 18 – Exodus 16:22-30

God has blessed us with a day of rest just as He blessed the Israelites. They did not have a day of rest as they labored in Egypt. God explained what His expectations were. We, too, have a day of rest. As we live in such a rushed, demanding society, do we always observe this day of rest? I know that when I was a mom and a wife and a teacher, days of rest were few and far between. Forgive me, Father. I was not being obedient. He made this day of rest to revive us, to renew us, to show His love for us, the very least we can do is to show our love for Him by resting and allowing Him to renew us with His words.  May you find a day of rest and reflection in your life. If not, ask God to help you find a way to be obedient and honor His commandments so that you, too, may observe a day of rest.
