September 29, 2019: Segment 4-Preventative Medicine and NAU's First BPH Summit

from The Armor Men's Health Show · host Dr. Sandeep Mistry and DOnna Lee

Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men’s Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there. In this segment Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee take a few listener questions and discuss some lesser known treatments for an enlarged prostate, or BPH, and prostate cancer. "What is a Urolift?" The Urolift is a procedure in which medical-grade staples are placed to keep excess prostate tissue in place and out of the way of the urethra- this allows for normal urination and bladder emptying. It is typically done in an outpatient setting, has minimal side effects, and is an insurance-covered treatment for an enlarged prostate, or BPH."What is a penile prosthesis?" The inflatable penile prosthesis is a surgically inserted device that takes the place of the normal erection mechanism in the male body. The prosthetic can be inflated as needed, which helps men keep the spontaneity in their sex lives, and deflated when not in use. The prosthesis has over a 90% patient satisfaction rate, and is ready for use just 6 weeks after placement. Don't forget to RSVP for NAU's first ever Make America Pee Again event (aka MAPA, aka Prostate Carnival). This event will be completely free and open to the public and held at the South Austin clinic location on November 7th, 2019.
