from The Common Good Podcast · host Brian From

(00:00-09:34): In a Tweet by The Daily Wire, Bernie Sanders answers a question at a town hall meeting essentially correlating abortions with population control and climate change. Brian and Ian discuss not only Sanders’ answer, but the response and cheers from the audience. (09:34-19:02): Music Therapy In NICUs Can Help Babies Get Home Sooner. Music therapy has been a pioneering method of treatment for brain trauma, dementia, and more. Ian share stories of the NICU and express their love for the nurses who took care of his son. (19:02-28:28): Some schools and teachers are implementing designated rest periods for students. We know a certain professor at a certain local institution, Marsha Vaughn, who is strongly advocating this method. (28:28-37:35): YOU KNOW WHAT REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS?? Brian and Ian continue this weekly rant about bothersome situations in their lives. Ian shared a story about a dishonest host at a restaurant, and Brian apparently hates pampered dogs. This is a heated segment, be warned. (37:35-47:42): This School Gives Students PE Credit For Doing Yard Work For The Elderly And People With Disabilities. Brian and Ian strongly endorse this and wonder how this isn’t more common in schools? They think it’s a win-win situation: burning calories and staying fit while helping others and serving the community. (47:42-58:10): Dave Chappelle’s new special, Sticks and Stones, takes aim at the power of outrage mobs. He is a comedian that has been in and out of the mainstream, but never seemed to lose his stride. Brian and Ian touch on the issues Chappelle jokes about and how comedy is a powerful tool for tackling tough topics. (58:10-1:08:04): These Glasses Will Physically ‘Nudge’ You If You Stop Paying Attention in Class. Brian and Ian talk about how we use technology in our lives and whether or not it owns us, or we own it. (1:08:04-1:14:38): Brian and Ian’s “Weird Stuff We Found on the Internet”: A man in DC wasn’t happy with Subway’s service, so he took care of it himself. All the legends of the Loch Ness Monster are true...sort of. Holding charges are frustrating, but this one was the straw that broke this woman’s back, and OH THE HUGE MANATEE! Meanwhile, Taylor Swift fans are creepy. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
