Sequences Podcast No 161

from Sequences Magazine · host Sequences Podcasts

Well! Christmas is nearly upon us, although here in Oz with summer only a few weeks away, it’s not the same for Mick, having fond memories of time spent in the UK with family & friends. You can call him a humbug, but there’s always some musician or label in our genre who must bring out a yuletide record, for him it just doesn’t work. You will be pleased or not, to note our lineup, as it is always been, to cover as much ground in so many different styles in electronic music, disregarding the more modern approach of house, techno, DJ, mixes, drum & bass, etc. After the strong showing of female artists in our last edition, it’s back with the boys, although Elizabeth Joan Kelly returns with her experimental songs. The ambient side, dark & atmospheric is quite dominant with, Eric -The -Taylor, Marconi Union, Phobos, Steve Roach & RNGMNN. Always good to have two of our well respected UK musicians here, Ian Boddy with Nigel Mullaney, improvising live with modular gear & the sheer diversity that Ivan Black brings to his music. Must mentioned Sula Bassana, Ayusp, & Void Expansion Ensemble debut on Sequences & a fine array of quality music from all of our players. Old school vintage track comes from Mario Schonwalder’s first solo CD, The Eye Of The Chameleon in 1989, happy listening. The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene (Full Audiobook) Robert Greene Amoral, cunning, ruthless, and instructive, this multi-million-copy New York Times bestseller is the definitive manual for anyone interested in gaining, observing, or defending against ultimate control – from the author of The Laws of Human Nature. In the book that People magazine proclaimed “beguiling” and “fascinating,” Robert Greene and Joost Elffers have distilled three thousand years of the history of power into 48 essential laws by drawing from the philosophies of Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, and Carl Von Clausewitz and also from the lives of figures ranging from Henry Kissinger to P.T. Barnum. Some laws teach the need for prudence (“Law 1: Never Outshine the Master”), others teach the value of confidence (“Law 28: Enter Action with Boldness”), and many recommend absolute self-preservation (“Law 15: Crush Your Enemy Totally”). Every law, though, has one thing in common: an interest in t Collateral Lateral Magazine Collateral is a collection of new voices exploring every aspect of human life, from the details of our everyday lives to parts of the wider world we never properly consider.
