Sequences Podcast No 212

from Sequences Magazine · host Sequences Podcasts

We have lost two of the most influential composers in the electronic music scene in just over three weeks. Klaus Schulze & Vangelis both had music careers spanning over 50 years. I had the privilege of seeing both musicians performing, only once for Vangelis at the Royal Albert Hall in 1976, supporting his first album for RCA, Heaven & Hell. Klaus Schulze as many of you know was a member of Tangerine Dream, Ash Ra Tempel & Cosmic Jokers before departing on a solo career with a prolific output of over 100 albums. Greek composer Vangelis was best known for his epic soundtracks to Blade Runner, Chariots Of Fire & more, renowned for harnessing experimental electronic sounds from Avante -Garde to Symphonic, a "one man quasi-classical orchestra" composing and performing on the first take. As we take our journey into this latest edition, let’s reflect with sadness on the power & majestic sounds these two incredible musicians have given us over many decades., R.I.P. The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene (Full Audiobook) Robert Greene Amoral, cunning, ruthless, and instructive, this multi-million-copy New York Times bestseller is the definitive manual for anyone interested in gaining, observing, or defending against ultimate control – from the author of The Laws of Human Nature. In the book that People magazine proclaimed “beguiling” and “fascinating,” Robert Greene and Joost Elffers have distilled three thousand years of the history of power into 48 essential laws by drawing from the philosophies of Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, and Carl Von Clausewitz and also from the lives of figures ranging from Henry Kissinger to P.T. Barnum. Some laws teach the need for prudence (“Law 1: Never Outshine the Master”), others teach the value of confidence (“Law 28: Enter Action with Boldness”), and many recommend absolute self-preservation (“Law 15: Crush Your Enemy Totally”). Every law, though, has one thing in common: an interest in t Collateral Lateral Magazine Collateral is a collection of new voices exploring every aspect of human life, from the details of our everyday lives to parts of the wider world we never properly consider.
