Charles Ray Hanish was a 49 year old, Indiana native, who lived in Reynolds at the time of his death on 3-13-2019. Allegedly, Garett Kirts has admitted to killing Ray, claiming it was an “accident”. I find that hard to believe due to the many “accidents” this defendant has claimed, yet later been proven intentional. There are no charges as of now, one year later, in Ray’s homicide. Kirts is being prosecuted for an alleged strangulation charge in Carroll County and an alleged murder charge in Newton County-Nicole Lynn Bowen. Kirts first said this murder was an “accident”, just a girl fight gone wrong, that got out of hand...Could he be lying about what happened to Ray as well? Should the word of a known liar be trusted?
