Sermon: A Child's Prayer (God and Family series)

Many of us are familiar with the verse in 1 Samuel 1:27 that goes, "For this child, I have prayed"... but what is the full context of this verse? As we close our the "God and Family" series, it's worth stopping to take a deeper look at who was prayer, what they were praying for, and how they reacted when God answered their prayer. The prayer is by Hannah and the baby for which she prayed would end up being Samuel. Through her struggle, we can see our own struggles and through her response to God's blessing, we can learn what it means to be truly grateful to the God who hears us when we hurt and is there for us when we cry. He affords us compassion and contentment, and sometimes he even grants us blessing. In those blessings, we catch a glimpse of His glory!
