Sermon: A Father's Word (God and Family series)

Ever notice that father-figures in popular sitcoms just get dumber and dumber? Even 20 years ago, father figures had some level of assertiveness or wisdom while most father figures today are portrayed as out-of-touch or are totally absent. It is a disturbing trend with real impacts on children. This has been studied and the empirical evidence shows that children are impacted negatively by the lack of an active father. What does the Bible have to say about this? Well, the Bible presents the image of a father who is never absent... God. We can learn so much about the role of a father figure which show drive the men to take their job of being fatherly individuals more seriously and show women what they should be encouraging or expect of their men.
