Sermon Audio: Gospel Meets Life- Passions

Good morning! We are so glad you are here for worship today! Have you ever heard of a train that's run off of its tracks? Perhaps you've seen photos of a ship that runs off course? Or maybe you've seen a river that overflows its banks? Recently, we've seen tragedies involving each of these scenarios (one right here at home) that involved widespread damage and casualties. What we witness again and again is this: when something powerful runs off course, it can be disastrous! The same is true with our desires and passions. The reality is, we are all people with strong affections and longings. These always lead us toward certain behaviors. The tensions, frustrations, and problems we experience in our life are often related to misdirected desires and passions. Today, we continue our series "Gospel Meets Life" and study of the book of James. I am praying you realize today that God's grace in Jesus can bring a new, sincere spirituality into your heart that can satisfy your passions and free you for a life of godliness.
