The Stewardship of Time The all elusive time. There is never enough of it. "I don't have time." This is the pressure that robs so much joy out of living .itself. Unfortunately, church work, church meetings, and church related activities seem to get mixed up in our problem and many of us resent demands on our time represented by parish activities, a request from the rector or preparation for the annual bazaar. The fact is that we all have time -- exactly the same amount. It is given out at the rate of 24 hours every day and 60 minutes every hour in exactly equal, fair, and just portions. When we use it wisely we feel better, we accomplish more and everyone seems to think we have more time than they do. If we are poor stewards of time, there is never enough, our life is hectic and harried and some of the really important things just simply do not get accomplished. The key word in time stewardship, as in the administration of a budget, is PRIORITIES. • Most of us seldom think about priorities and we let ourselves be run by the urgent rather than the important, the immediate and not necessarily the most satisfying or valuable.
