Sermon Discussion | 1st Corinthians: Part 15 - 1 Corinthians 9:15-2

from UBC Beavercreek - Sermons · host Guest User

Scripture Reference: 1 Corinthians 9:1-14 Main Idea: A maturing church governs their liberties in Christ out of love for the Gospel of Christ. Application Questions: Have you come to believe the gospel of Christ? Will you give up your Christian liberties for the sake of reaching unbelievers with the Gospel? Q. In the beginning of the passage, Paul defends himself as an apostle. My question is this - Do apostles still exist today? Q. The text talks about pastors being financially supported by their churches. I have a somewhat related question - Should church pastors and staff still be expected to volunteer any of their non-staff paid time to ministry in the church? Q. How do very small churches find the balance between having enough money in the bank to ensure meeting legal responsibilities, utilities, etc. and paying the pastor a meaningful salary when money gets tight?
