Sermon: Staying on Mission

from Redeemer PCA of Overland Park · host redeemerpcaop

Staying on Mission Acts 20:24 September 8, 2019 Pastor Tony Felich Sermon Application Sheet [FILE] ----more---- Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.  (approx. 56 AD) Acts 20:24 But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.  (approx. 57 AD) Philippians 3:1314 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, [14] I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (approx. 61 AD) Colossians 1:28-29 Him (Christ) we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. [29] For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me. (approx. 62 AD) The effectiveness of Paul’s ministry (life) was dependent on steady clarity about His Christ-ordained, Holy-Spirit empowered mission.  There are several universal Christian truths revealed by Paul’s example: As our Savior, Christ is also our Lord who directs our life. The priority of Christ is the priority of every believer. The Christian life is filled with challenges that require constant dependence upon Christ.
