Sermon: Support One Another (Family series)

The early church is personified by their sense of mutual support and charity.  They viewed their possessions as being entirely shared and provided for everyone's needs.  Elsewhere in the Bible, we see support taking many forms.  In some instances it looks like an individual assisting others in ministry.  In more intimate moments, it looks a lot like Jesus asking his friends to spend time with him as he prayed for the terrible events he would suffer on the cross.  Regardless of how you show support in your church, it is important that we ask ourselves if we're acting more like parts of a family, here to support one another, or if our interactions with church look a lot more like members of a social club.
