SERMON: Wisdom Opens The Eyes

How does a spiritually blind man ever begin to see? How does a fool who naturally resists God, rejects correction, and trusts his own judgment become wise? In this opening sermon from our new series, Christian Wisdom: Fearing the Things of God, we discover that truth has an Owner, wisdom has a school, and spiritual sight is a gift of sovereign grace. Proverbs teaches us that knowledge belongs to God, wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord, and true understanding comes only when the Holy Spirit gives life to the dead heart. Jesus Christ is the Wisdom and Light of God. He does not merely offer better information to confused people. He opens blind eyes, resurrects foolish sinners, and trains His redeemed people to see God’s world truthfully, live within it faithfully, and build beneath His everlasting reign.
