Sermons: The Bible is our Rule for Faith and Life

March 8, 2020 Pastor Tony Felich  Sermon Application [file]  ----more---- Redeemer Mission/Vision Series (Four Parts) Foundation verses for RPC’s Mission/Vision: Matthew 28:18-20/Colossians 1:28-29   Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. [19] Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Colossians 1:28 Him (Christ) we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. [29] For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.   Redeemer’s mission is to mature as a community of Christians who love to worship their God, study His Word, and proclaim His gospel to the world. Worship: We are redeemed to give God the glory He deserves. Community: A family of sinners saved by grace through Christ. The Word: The Bible is our rule for faith and life. Proclamation: We want to share Christ with everyone.   Today’s focus: 2 Timothy 3:14-17, Hebrews 4:12 Part 2: The Bible is our Rule for Faith and Life 2 Timothy 3:14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it [15] and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. [16] All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, [17] that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.   What is the Bible?   What place does the Bible have in the Church?   What place does the Bible have in our lives?
