Though none of us gets to spend 100% of our time just doing that one thing, you want to be sure at the end of the day and most definitely by the end of life you’ve accomplished what God put you on this planet to do. Join us this weekend as we wrap up our series on service by examining the role individual gifting plays in determining how and where we serve.SERIES: Service or Serve UsIt was the Nobel Prize-winning Dr. Albert Schweitzer who once said, “I don’t know what your destiny will be, but one thing I know, the only ones among you who will be truly happy are those who have sought and found how to serve.” This is something both Dr. Schweitzer and Jesus shared in common - a stunning reversal of the Me-First paradigm with an approach that is radically other-centered.---DISCUSSION QUESTIONS1.) Where did God challenge you most through this message? Were there any new learnings about what God has said regarding our purpose or who He has made you to be? What do you think your next step might be?2.) In the first half of the message, Pastor Keith spent a lot of time talking about the reality that we are all uniquely gifted and created for a divine purpose. Do you know what your gifts are? Do you have a clear understanding of your purpose? Why or why not? For those of you who lack clarity, share with the group what things get you excited, motivated, or that you can talk about easily. What characteristics do others affirm in you? Have you had any “God moments” – times when you think God was especially at work through something you did or said?3.) Have you ever sensed a nudge from the Holy Spirit prompting you to say something or do something but you resisted it? What was the thing you felt compelled to do or say? What held you back? How much of a factor was it that you were afraid of looking stupid or your old wounding was talking to you?4.) As a practical exercise, make Howard Henrick’s prayer your own prayer every day for the next week…“Lord, here I am. I want to be Your suit of clothes today. I want You to take me and use me. Lord, just walk around in me today.” – Howard HendricksAs you pray this prayer each morning, pay attention to opportunities that present themselves. Have the courage to do whatever the Lord is laying on your heart to do. You don’t have to force any of this. You’re not trying to make things happen on your own. You just want to be sensitive that God might want to use you in situations where you would normally remain unengaged.5.) One of the keys to discovering and refining our sense of who we are and why we are here is simply to make a beginning by using what we have at our disposal in service of others. What are some natural talents that you have, areas of experience, or even work-related skills that might be useful to other people? Have you ever put those skills to work outside of your job?6.)
