SESSION 117 - Examine Ourselves Introspective Self-discovery.

from What Is A Biblical Man? · host Josh Price & Tim Holloway

Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test! The bible gives us the admonition to examine ourselves, this implies introspective self-discovery. There are many things that we must realize about ourselves to grow inside of recovery. Self-awareness is one of the most important things to grow inside of this recovery lifestyle. Awareness is understanding your desires and being honest about your strengths and weaknesses. Our convictions and value systems spring from both God-awareness and self-awareness. Being present in the moment is one of the crucial things you can start practicing to achieve: self-awareness. Most people make the mistake of projecting themselves into the future and meditating and clinging on to the past, in which the Apostle Paul stated is not a very productive habit. The bible teaches us if we want to let go of all the shame, guilt, and regrets, do not dwell on things you cannot control. Jesus stated that today has enough problems on its own.  The same goes for just focusing on the future because tomorrow is not here yet, and it may not come. So the best thing you should do is exert all your energy on today and don't let the future distract you from the present moment. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
