Seth Lugo's Ten-Year Journey

Seth Lugo just hit a major milestone—10 years of MLB service time—after a gritty journey from reliever to full-time starter. Since joining the Royals in 2022, he’s posted a 27-20 record with a 3.52 ERA in 74 starts. His path wasn’t easy: years in New York as a reliever fueled his desire to start, leading him to San Diego before finding his home in Kansas City. Now a respected veteran, he mentors young pitchers and aims for a World Series while ensuring his legacy lasts for his kids. With a $21.5M contract through 2029, Lugo’s story is proof that perseverance pays off—and that ten years in the majors isn’t just about stats, it’s about impact.
