Setting the Record Straight

from Tipping Point Prophecy Update Hosted by Jimmy Evans

Dr. Mark Hitchcock joins me today to respond to TBN’s series called God With Us, which offers a very different understanding from what we believe the Bible clearly says about the End Times. Many of our viewers reached out when they saw this series and were confused, so we wanted to help. In a spirit of love and respect, we address claims that the Rapture is just a fear tactic, that Matthew 24 and most of Revelation have already been fulfilled, and that the church will gradually take over the world before Jesus returns. We walk through what the Bible actually says in passages like Zechariah 14, Revelation 19, and Matthew 24. The world isn’t getting better—it’s getting worse. And Jesus said when He comes, it’s going to be like the days of Noah. The church isn’t going to deliver the world to Jesus. He’s coming to take it over Himself. The End Times Timeline isn’t just another Bible study—it’s God’s roadmap showing us exactly where we’re headed. And let me tell you, Jesus is coming back soon! I mean really soon! Look around you—Israel back in the land, technology advancing at breakneck speed, the nations aligning exactly as Ezekiel prophesied. These aren’t coincidences. This is divine orchestration! But here’s what I love about this timeline—it’s not about fear, it’s about hope! While the world is falling apart, we know how the story ends. Every prophecy will be fulfilled to the letter, just like they always have been. So don’t be discouraged by what you see on the news. Get excited! Our redemption is drawing near! Personal Reflection 1. Does my understanding of Bible prophecy bring me hope and peace, or has it been distorted by teachers who used it as a fear tactic? 2. Am I basing my beliefs about the End Times on what the Bible says, or on what certain teachers have told me? 3. Do I see the world getting better or worse? Does current reality match what the Bible says about the last days? 4. Have I studied Matthew 24 and Revelation for myself to see what these passages actually say about the future? Small Group Discussion 1. Why do you think some teachers have turned against traditional prophecy teaching and embraced Dominion theology or preterism? 2. If all of Matthew 24 was fulfilled in 70 AD, how could someone explain verses like Matthew 24:29–31 where Jesus describes the sun being darkened, the stars falling, and His visible return in the clouds? 3. Jimmy Evans said, “If a preacher uses Rapture teaching wrong, that doesn’t discredit Rapture teaching—it discredits the preacher.” How can we separate bad experiences with certain teachers from the actual biblical doctrine? 4. Jesus said His coming would be like the days of Noah. What does that tell us about the state of the world when He returns, and how does that contradict Dominion theology? 5. How can we lovingly disagree with other believers about eschatology while still maintaining unity in the body of Christ? Key Facts 1. Jimmy Evans and Dr. Mark Hitchcock respond to TBN’s God With Us series, which promotes Dominion theology, amillennialism, and preterism—views opposite to their pre-tribulation, premillennial position. 2. Preterism is the belief that all Bible prophecy, including Matthew 24 and most of Revelation, was fulfilled in the first century, primarily in 70 AD when the Temple was destroyed. 3. Dominion theology teaches that the church will gradually take over the world and deliver it to Jesus, rather than Jesus returning to a world in chaos as described in Zechariah 14 and Revelation 19. 4. The Didache, an early church document written between 70–100 AD, refers to Matthew 24 three times as future prophecy, proving the earliest Christians did not believe it was fulfilled in their lifetime. 5. Nero, often cited by preterists as the Antichrist, did not fulfill key prophecies: he was not resurrected after a mortal wound, did not rule all nations, did not require a mark to buy or sell, and committed suicide in 68 AD. 6. Jesus said His coming would be ‘like the days of Noah’ (Matthew 24:37–39), indicating a corrupt and violent world at His return—not a world conquered by the church. 7. The word “taken” in Matthew 24:40–41 is the Greek word paralambano, the same word Jesus used in John 14:3 when He promised to “receive” believers to Himself—a Rapture text. 8. Revelation 11 describes the Two Witnesses whose deaths will be watched by the entire world—something only possible with modern technology like smartphones, proving this prophecy is still future. 9. Daniel 12:4 says the prophetic book would be sealed “until the time of the end” when travel and knowledge would increase—conditions fulfilled only in the modern era, not the first century.
