Foundation! You should consider a true concrete Pier and Beam Foundation6. Caulk/Silicon EVERYWHERE! And also use canned spray foam when necessary.5. Moisture Control. Get bathroom vents, and use a Dehumidifier!!!!4. Deadwood. You gotta have it, too much to explain here in text. 😂3. Don’t Get In Over Your Head! When in doubt, hire out your rough plumbing and electrical. There is still lots of work you can do to save money and learn new skills.2. Budget 20% Increase of your estimated costs. This could easily be 25-30%!!! The thing will always take longer than you think, and cost way more!!!1. INSULATION!!!! Specifically, spray foam insulation. Don’t skimp on this, so many people have said that they regret not going spray foam.
