Here's a question for you as I adjust my sound here, and let's try this again. Here is a question for you Yeah, sounds reasonably good. It'd be a little bit better. There we go.

Perfect. Ah getting ready to do the podcast now And you're kind of with me, but before we get started on the podcast, you know, how do you drink soda? Do you drink soda out of a can? I hate drinking soda out of a can You know, I just hate it Although I really love coke zero and you get the cans of the coke zero when you go to Sam's or any of those places and It's just you know, you have 35 cans for 19 bucks or so.

I don't know But I'll tell you the way I like to drink. I'm drinking diet coke right now Here it is in the what is a 16 ounce bottle that a 16 ounce bottle? Yeah, it's a 16 ounce bottle I like drinking a lot of these bottles. No, I used to love drinking coke or you know Well, there wasn't a coke back then, but I used to love drinking soda out of glass bottles.

I remember oh gosh. I remember You got the glass bottles. I'm the way to school. I would walk to Lincoln Elementary I would did 521 West Michigan Avenue in Battle Creek, Michigan And I would walk to Lincoln Elementary School, which was on Van Buren so I would go down a block I would turn right I would go down and there was this little tiny store called the milk house And I would go in there and I would buy a king size coke a king size coke reminds you and and a piece of candy And it was nine cents for the king size coke unless I paid a deposit I would drink like two swigs of it there And then I would he would put the top on it and stick it in a refrigerator for me And then I'd go to school and then when I'm the way home from school I would have the rest of my coat and I'd leave the bottle there But if I took the bottle yet paid deposit when I remember my mom going to the nationals grocery store and picking up You know a six pack of coke's and bringing them home and we'd have to take those and put them back and take them down You get our deposit back and back then it was it was one cent then it became three cents.

My dad got really mad Anyway, that's not what we're here to talk about today. Let's get the podcast doing and today today Ah, seven things that you should do if we can get to all of them that you should do to get ready for spring Well, one of the things I'm doing is and I'm just going by the list here. I found a list. Here's a list clean one small space And that's a good thing to do I'm cleaning one small space and I've been doing I had no idea how disorganized it was I'm cleaning one small space here in my studio and getting that done and the small space in my studio that I'm cleaning is that damn closet over there And I found a computer in that closet that I hadn't you know It had I took it back to my bedroom I have a table and I better when I set it up and I plugged it in and it's a Windows 7 computer And I can't get it to load all the way So I don't know what I'm gonna do probably pull the hard drive out of it and then take it to the recycling center But my my goal that took me away from my goal But my goal now is to get that closet totally cleaned out and I've got a lot of empty boxes in there The boxes and all my microphones and everything came in I gotta I gotta do something with those either put them up on a shelf as I keep the box boxes But there's just a lot of stuff in there a lot of clothes in there a lot of exact stuff in there So that's something another thing that you can do for spring and you know I go back to my gardening days I go back to the home and garden radio with Michael crows or ask the garden geek with Michael crows and plant something You know what for spring?

It's it's the end of February. It's gonna be March. I plant something even if it's in a cop My daughter is done that even if it's in a cop. She does this everywhere she plans things and cops and gets them going So there you go And then another thing you can do which I don't do is revisit the January goals because I don't make January goals But be honest don't be guilty if you made goals in January and that you know Cypher out what still matters what still matters on those January goals, you know to lose ten pounds a month for you know Ten months.

Wow, you'd be nothing. Anyway There you go the next thing number four number four. I should have I should have like a sound for that Number four no, how about number four? I'm feeling all right number four take one analog walk leave the phone behind No earbuds.

I don't wear earbuds. Anyway, I just don't they're uncomfortable I don't like the sound but you know take take a walk without the phone and Take a stroll around the neighborhood and listen to the birds and look at kids and watch the dog There's a new dog that lives on next block over beautiful dog. Yeah, you know the couple taking out walking beautiful dog Do that am I but I let's be realistic now. I live my whole life without cell phones until the 80s You know until the 90s actually I got my first cell phone in I think 1988 and it was 55 cents a minute on a damn cell phone But it was nice to have in case there was an emergency yet I lived from 1951 until 1988 or 89 whenever it was without a cell phone my mother lived 81 years without a cell phone We gave her a cell phone and she said take it back when she was in her 70s I said mom What did she get a flat tire she was I guess I go knock on somebody's door and ask them to call you know triple a for me But she lived her whole life my you know my sister lived her whole life without a cell phone I lived very well without a cell phone But take one analog walk, okay Then start a 30-day micro habit nothing heroic, you know, I'm thinking about that I was I remember a conversation I had with Barbara grassy Barbara grassy as an author good friend of mine She lives in Portugal now and she told me when I was very out of shape And I'm in better shape now than I've been in a while but when I was very out of shape she said try planking I said what else planking she said you lay down Well, unless you got really clean carpeting and you lay down and you get on put your arms in front of you And you get on your you know You lay there and boost yourself up But with flat arms and boost yourself up as much as you can from your toes in other words take your toes Take your whole body lift it off the ground and try and do it for 60 seconds.

I don't that's gonna be easy What's up with that, you know and so I did and damn I didn't last 10 seconds And I said, oh god, so you know, I said, all right. I'm in back tomorrow next day barely 15 seconds Next day got it up to a half minute got it next day. I'm heading towards a minute I am heading towards a minute when somebody knocked on my damn door. Ah But anyway, I got it to where I could do like three to five minutes planking and but you know, I haven't done it Well, I'm real interested if I should try it now.

I'll try it I'll let you know tomorrow I went if I remember oh Open some windows. Well today in Florida. Hi is 50 and the lowest in the 30s. I'm not opening any windows Okay, but I know it changes moods and it lets the fresh area and and all of those things That's number six by the way and uh number seven I'm getting ready to do after the podcast also do one slightly uncomfortable thing and after the podcast I've got to pay bills I you know It used to never bother me to pay bills and then it became stressful to pay bills and now I just hate it I just hate it, but I'm gonna do it.

You know, I only got two bills to pay I only have a water bill and the mortgage. That's all I've got to do water bill in the mortgage And I'll do that after I'm done with this, but you know, that is what it is and you know, we just sort of You know get ourselves organized. So there's seven things That you can do Do kind of make spring spring into action The other thing I'm gonna have to do and I haven't done it yet We're not where I live. You know where you live.

Maybe if you live in Michigan or yeah, the leaves all fall in the fall That's why they call it fall here The leaves don't fall until the spring when the new leaves start budding out and then all the leaves fall now I've only got two trees on my property. It's not on my property It's not by the road and the leaves are falling I gotta get out. I gotta rake the leaves, but I'm not doing it until they're all down. That's just it I'll do it till they're all down.

Otherwise gonna be doing it over and over and over again. We'll see you tomorrow, everybody
