Severe storm rips through Philly region, downing trees and knocking out power
Crews are out in the city and suburbs cleaning up downed trees, wires, and collapsed roofs from yesterday's wicked storms. The National Weather Service says there were at least four microbursts in our region. These straight-lined winds reached over 60 mph. ***** A possible measles exposure has been reported at the Philadelphia airport. ***** Three people are dead after a driver trying to flee police went the wrong way on the Schuylkill Expressway in Lower Merion Saturday morning. It left a portion of I-76 westbound shut down for hours. ***** It was a sea of humanity on the Ben Franklin Bridge on Saturday. Thousands showed up on the hot, humid day to walk across the bridge and celebrate its 100th birthday. ***** The Philadelphia Police Department needs more officers. It's currently holding a drive in hopes of filling 1,100 open spots.
