박근혜 대통령 퇴진을 촉구하는 8차 촛불집회가 열리는 서울 광화문 광장 한복판에 세월호 참사 희생자를 애도하는 의미에서 준비된 304개의 구명조끼가 바닥에 놓였다. 이 구명조끼에는 세월호 참사를 상징하는 노란 리본과 하얀 국화꽃이 함께 놓였고 유가족들은 구명조끼를 바라보며 슬픔에 잠기기도 했다. 한편 세월호 유가족 70여 명은 아이들의 구명조끼를 입고 종로구 삼청동 국무총리 공관 방면으로 행진을 진행했다.
