Sexual assault verdict nets Nichols three 15-year sentences

Robert A. Nichols of La Vernia has received a 15-year sentence for sexually assaulting his biological daughter. A Wilson County jury found Nichols guilty on July 22 of three counts of sexual assault and sentenced him to 15 years in prison on each count. However, 81st Judicial District Attorney Audrey Gossett Louis explained that because the crime was committed at a time when Texas law did not allow stacking sentences for adult sexual assaults, Nichols will serve no more than 15 years for his crimes.
