Sexuality and Spirituality

Swami Kriyananda explains that sexuality and spirituality are connected through the deeper human longing for union with the Divine, and that all experiences-including relationships-should ultimately be directed twoard inner freedom and God-centered love. He warns that sexual desire, when pursued for pleasure alone, easily strengthens ego, drains energy, and distracts from spiritual growth, but that within a committed, loving relationship it can be uplifted and used to deepen spiritual awareness. Ultimately, he encourages approaching all aspects of life-including sex-not as concessions to human weakness but as opportunities to spiritualize consciousness by acting with self-control, devotion, and inward God-remembrance.
