Welcome to the School for Startups Minute with Jim Beach. This week, we are talking about great ideas and that there is actually something more important than a great idea. That's right. It seems crazy. It seems counterintuitive, but it is true. There are things better than a great idea. For example, a paying customer, cash in hand, is an even better validation. I'll share another great example that there are things better than great ideas right after this. Great timing is actually more important than a great idea. As a matter of fact, even good timing is better than a great idea. I hate it when people do this, but I'm going to do it. I had Zocdoc up and running about a decade before they did. The doctors weren't ready for it, and the product failed because the doctors weren't there. Timing was wrong.
