Shadows of What is to Come

from Gilbert House Fellowship

SINS OF omission are just as serious in the Lord’s eyes as those we commit intentionally. We continue our discussion of the detailed laws for the burnt offering, grain offering, sin offering, guilt offering, ordination offering, and peace offering, with a reminder that all of this is just “a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.” (Col. 2:17; see also Hebrews 8:5 and 10:1).Above all, as we begin Thanksgiving week, remember to be thankful that God will still be on the throne come January 21. This has been a trying year for most of us, but He still reigns, and His sacrifice has secured our future regardless of what happens in this life. As Paul wrote, “If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied” (1 Cor. 15:19). Keep looking up!
