In this interview with Thomas Wright of Brookings, we begin a discussion of US foreign policy in the Age of Trump with a look back at citizen Trump’s views of US global economic and political policies. Wright has argued for some time that Trump has held a remarkably coherent and critical view of American foreign policy since the 1980s. We then delve into the elements of Trump’s ‘America First’ policies and examine how, or if, those foreign policy elements have changed since Trump became president.
