Shane Cohen on going from a walk on to an NCAA Champion, sitting and kicking and more

from Running In Circles · host Zach Hamilton

Today I’m joined by Shane Cohen! Shane has quite the story. He transferred from the University of Tampa where he was an All-American to Virginia last fall and had some thrilling races this season. He uses the infamous Sit and Kick strategy and it helped him Win the 800m NCAA National Championship a little over a month ago. As his confidence has grown and he’s gotten to race better competition he took his 800m personal best from 1:49 to an astounding 1:44. After the college season wrapped up he qualified for the Olympic Trials where he was able to finish 6th in the country. This was a really fun one to record as Shane discusses his outlook on getting better, his love for the team aspect of the sport, and much more.
