Shane Lowry’s Course-Record Masterclass | Belfast News

Shane Lowry just unleashed a jaw-dropping course-record 62 at the Irish Open, flirting with a 59 before settling into a commanding three-shot lead — and he was having the time of his life doing it. With laser focus, clutch saves (including a Houdini moment on the 10th), and only one bogey all day, Lowry dominated the front nine with seven birdies, then kept rolling through the back nine. Playing alongside Jon Rahm and Patrick Reed, he soaked in the crowd’s energy while showcasing total control — hitting it close, sinking long putts, and staying calm even after the slip-up. Now sitting atop the leaderboard with a stormy forecast looming, Lowry’s performance was pure magic — and everyone’s gunning for him next.
